How Emergency Contact Notification Works
In an emergency, every second counts. Traditional methods of contacting family members - calling each person individually, sending group texts, or hoping someone sees your message - waste precious time. AssureOkay's emergency contact notification system solves this by alerting all your designated contacts simultaneously through multiple channels.
Whether you've had a fall, medical emergency, or simply can't respond to your daily check-in, your entire emergency network is notified instantly. No one is left wondering or trying to reach each other - everyone knows simultaneously that you need help.

On the Plus plan, automated AI assistant calls follow up with your contacts if the email and text alerts go unanswered, and keep trying until a contact confirms they have seen it or you check in.

AI Phone Call Escalation (Plus)
Email and text alerts only help if someone reads them in time. On the Plus plan, AssureOkay adds automated AI phone calls to your emergency contacts, so a missed alert does not become a missed emergency. This is different from AI phone check-ins, where the assistant calls you to confirm you are okay. Here, the assistant calls the people you trust when you have not responded.
What the assistant says
It introduces itself as an automated AI assistant, never pretending to be a person, explains that you missed a check-in or triggered an SOS, and asks your contact to reach you or check on you in person. It can read out your phone number and relay any instructions you left for that contact.
How it follows up
Your contacts get a few minutes to respond to the email or text link first. If no one has, the calls begin. Each contact is called up to three times, a few minutes apart, and if a call reaches voicemail the assistant leaves a message.
When the calls stop
Calls to a contact stop as soon as that contact confirms they have seen the alert, and every call stops the moment you check in or cancel the alarm. Because the goal is to reach someone who can help, one contact acknowledging does not silence the calls to the others.
Consent and reach
AI calls to contacts are opt-in: you switch them on, and each contact agrees to be called. Calls work on any phone, including landlines and flip phones, and run wherever AssureOkay supports phone calls (currently in English).
