Safety on your wrist. SOS & auto check-ins.
Tap the SOS button to alert your emergency contacts. Or just wear your watch and let AssureOkay check you in automatically through Health Connect. Works on Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch and other Wear OS smartwatches.
How It Works
Three simple steps to turn your Wear OS watch into a personal safety device
Install on your watch
Install AssureOkay from the Google Play Store on your phone. The watch app installs alongside it — open it once on your wrist and sign in.
Allow Health & background access
Grant heart rate and activity access through Health Connect, then make sure the watch can keep AssureOkay running in the background so auto check-ins stay reliable.
Just wear it
Heart rate and activity from Health Connect confirm you're up and about, which counts as a check-in. No taps required.
A single button. Help on the way.
Press & hold the SOS button on your wrist and AssureOkay notifies your emergency contacts by email and SMS. No PIN. No menus.
- Big, glanceable target. Works with shaky hands.
- Synced with your AssureOkay account in real time
- Independent of your phone on LTE watch models
Your watch checks you in. Just by wearing it.
AssureOkay reads recent heart rate and activity samples through Health Connect to confirm you're up and moving. If your watch has logged either in the last few hours, that counts as a check-in. No tap required.
Privacy first. Health data is read on your device through Health Connect. AssureOkay only sees the signals you explicitly allow, and only uses them to mark you as checked in.
- Granular permissions: you pick what to share
- Read-only access: AssureOkay never writes to your health data
- Toggle off any time from your watch's Health Connect settings
Keep AssureOkay running in the background.
Wear OS aggressively pauses apps you haven't opened in a while to save battery. If it pauses AssureOkay, your automatic check-ins stop firing — so this one setting is the difference between a safety net that works and one that quietly goes dark.
⚠️ Important: turn off battery pausing for AssureOkay on your watch. Without it, auto check-in will not run reliably in the background. See the step-by-step instructions for your watch below.
More reasons to wear it
Built for everyday life
Battery friendly
Auto check-in piggybacks on heart rate and activity your watch is already collecting through Health Connect. No constant polling, no surprise drain.
Wide compatibility
Works on Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch and other smartwatches running Wear OS 4 or later with Health Connect.
LTE ready
On an LTE watch, SOS works even when your phone is in another room or out of range entirely.
Same contacts everywhere
Your emergency contacts and alarm escalation are shared across web, phone and watch.
No nagging
When activity confirms you're fine, scheduled check-in reminders quietly skip themselves. Less buzz, same safety net.
No extra cost
The Wear OS app is included with every AssureOkay account, with no separate purchase needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before pairing your watch
⚠️ How do I keep AssureOkay running in the background? (do this first)
This is the most important setup step. To save battery, Wear OS pauses apps you haven't opened recently and stops them running in the background. If it pauses AssureOkay, automatic check-ins will not work — your watch will stop confirming you're okay without you realising it. Turn battery pausing off so AssureOkay can keep checking you in.
Samsung Galaxy Watch
On the watch, go to Settings → Apps → App list → AssureOkay → Permissions and disable “Pause app activity if unused”. While you're there, set the app's battery usage to Unrestricted if the option is available.
Google Pixel Watch
On the watch, go to Settings → Apps → AssureOkay, turn off “Pause app activity if unused”, then open Battery and set it to Unrestricted (so the app can run in the background without limits).
Other Wear OS watches
The wording varies slightly by brand, but the idea is the same. On the watch open Settings → Apps → AssureOkay and look for two things: turn off “Pause app activity if unused”, and set Battery (or “Battery usage”) to Unrestricted / “Don't optimise”.
Tip: some watches mirror this setting from the phone. If you still see check-ins being missed, open the phone's companion app (Galaxy Wearable, or the Watch app) and exclude AssureOkay from battery optimisation there too: Settings → Apps → Special access → Battery optimisation → AssureOkay → Don't optimise.
Do I need a smartwatch to use AssureOkay?
No. AssureOkay works fully on Android, iPhone and the web. Daily check-ins, emergency contacts, AI phone check-ins and the digital will are all available without a watch. The Wear OS app is an optional companion that adds one-tap SOS and passive auto check-in.
Which smartwatches are supported?
Any smartwatch running Wear OS 4 or later with Health Connect, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch range (Watch 4 and newer) and every Google Pixel Watch. Other Wear OS watches from brands like Mobvoi (TicWatch) and OnePlus work too.
What does AssureOkay actually see in my health data?
Only what you grant. The Health Connect prompts on your watch let you allow access to heart rate and physical activity. AssureOkay reads them on-device to confirm you're active; it never writes to your health data, and you can revoke access any time from your watch's Health Connect settings.
Why does it ask to access data “all the time”?
Auto check-in needs to read your activity even when the app isn't open on screen — that's the whole point of a passive safety net. Choosing “Allow all the time” for fitness and wellness data lets AssureOkay confirm you're okay in the background. Combined with turning off battery pausing, it's what keeps automatic check-ins reliable.
How does the auto check-in actually work?
When your check-in window opens, AssureOkay looks at the most recent heart rate and activity samples from Health Connect. If either shows activity in the relevant time window, you're checked in automatically. If nothing is detected, you'll get a normal reminder to confirm manually.
Will it drain my watch battery?
No measurable drain in normal use. AssureOkay does not poll sensors directly; it reads the heart rate and activity summaries your watch is already tracking through Health Connect. Leaving it unrestricted in the background uses negligible power compared with the always-on display or workout tracking.
What happens if I tap SOS by accident?
Every SOS starts with a visible cancel countdown and a haptic buzz. Tap Cancel on the watch within the window and nothing is sent. Even after the countdown completes, you can mark yourself safe from your phone or the web to stop alarm escalation immediately.
Does it work without my phone nearby?
On an LTE watch, yes. SOS sends and check-ins sync wherever you have signal or Wi-Fi. On a Bluetooth-only watch, you need your phone within range (or both on the same Wi-Fi) for SOS to leave the device.
The AssureOkay app isn't showing up on my watch — what should I do?
Try these in order — the first two resolve almost every case:
- Install the app from the Google Play Store on your phone, then sign in with your existing account. The watch companion ships with the native Android app, not with a website saved to your home screen.
- Install directly on the watch. Open the Play Store on the watch itself, search “AssureOkay” and tap install. This bypasses phone sync entirely and is the fastest way to confirm whether it's a sync glitch.
- Check that phone and watch use the same Google account. Apps only sync across when both devices are signed in to the same account.
- Check your watch storage. On the watch: Settings → Storage. If it's nearly full, companion apps can fail to install silently.
- Restart both devices, then open the watch app once on your wrist so it can sign in.
After installing, open the watch app once so it can sign in, then complete the Health Connect and background-activity steps above.
Is the Wear OS app a paid add-on?
No. The Wear OS app is included with every AssureOkay subscription at no extra cost, on both Base and Plus. Install it from the Google Play Store and sign in with your existing AssureOkay account.
